An important and rare monumental vase from the famous “Gran Rosso” series, designed by Gio Ponti in the late 1920s during his pivotal tenure as artistic director at Richard Ginori.

This piece represents one of the most iconic expressions of Ponti’s decorative design applied to Italian ceramics of the Art Deco period. The slightly flared cylindrical structure is punctuated by a rhythmic succession of concentric raised ribs that give the piece a strong sculptural and architectural presence.

Particularly noteworthy is the deep red “oxblood” enamel finish, referred to in the catalog as Gran Rosso, one of the most sophisticated color experiments developed by Richard Ginori in its artistic production between 1928 and 1930.
